Examples

Decode packets from microphone audio

Use the browser microphone as the receive input.

Useful for:

  • testing packet audio from another device
  • decoding from a receiver speaker output
  • quick APRS experiments without desktop software
Plain English: if the browser can hear the packet tones clearly enough, the modem can try to decode them.

Send a test message

Example packet:

text
M0TEST>APRS:Hello world

The demo can turn that into audio directly in the browser.

Useful for:

  • checking generated AFSK audio
  • testing browser audio output
  • experimenting without native modem software

Send a position packet

Example position content:

text
!5130.44N/00007.67W>Browser APRS test

Useful for:

  • learning APRS position format
  • testing map display
  • experimenting with beacons

Heard stations

When a valid packet is decoded, the demo can add the station to a heard list. If the packet contains a position, it can also appear on the map.

Native tools, weird experiments, and practical performance work.
